    Description

I AM NOT SELLING A KIT
    ,
only a new, full-size copy of my vintage
    PLAN
    +
    construction
    article
    to build Pete Bowers'
    FLY BABY
    OT FF or RC.
In the 1940s Pete Bowers published a very pretty little free flight cabin model he called the
    FLY BABY
. The 48" span model offered either floats or regular landing gear. It was a delight to fly and could easily handle the Class A engines of the day: Atom .09, Arden .09 or Ohlsson & Rice .19. But any Cox .049 would be fine today.
This new copy of my original old time
    PLAN
shows all the necessary parts patterns for both the wheeled or the pontoon versions of the model. I also include a copy of a construction article from Model Builder magazine for building the model as a 1/2-A Texaco version.
With an electric motor this would make a very nice 2 or 3-channel RC model today. The wing dihedral shown on the plan is so ample that the model should roll
out of a tight turn and automatically level itself. Modelers made it into a rudder-only RC back in the 1960s.
(Some may remember in the 1950s Pete designed the most famous homebuilt airplane ever, which was made from plywood just like a model plane. He also called it the FLY BABY. To jog your memory a bit, my last picture is of Pete in the cockpit of that forever famous home built plane.)
    As a
    BONUS
I include an impressive 8 page 3-view document of the
    FLY BABY
    from 1963.
With over 1000 original plans in my collection I have several other
    FLY BABY
plans such as those by Doc Matthews, Twin City Radio Controllers, etc. Just ask!
